Dr. Daphne Pillai was a part of the India Calling Business Delegation to Stuttgart, Germany from April 14-18, 2015. The special focus of the delegation was “Skill Development”. The delegation consisted of a cross section of industry and academic institutions. The objective was to understand the German system of on-job skill development and vocational training models. The delegation visited the Department of Vocational Education, University of Stuttgart where they were given an overview on Skill Development. Visits were also organized to the Nuremberg Siemens Factory where there was a presentation on the German Education System. Visits were also arranged to the Porche Museum and the Mercedes-Benz- Werk. The supporting organizations were Ministry of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, Ministry of Skill Development, Government of India, Ministry of Finance and Economics, Government of Baden Wurttemberg, Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce, Indian Mission in Germany and Office of Mayor, Stuttgart.
